In this two day program, Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 2:30pm, boys and girls ages 11 to 13 learn about child development, age-appropriate activities, and lifesaving skills. Topics include: practical child care techniques, safety precautions, rescue breathing and care of a choking infant/child, recognizing emergencies, calling for emergency help and managing common problem behaviors.
To successfully complete the program, students must pass a comprehensive practical and written test to demonstrate they mastered the concepts and skills necessary to handle an emergency. The fee is $40 for first child and $25 for sibling, both must be registered. Children should bring a lunch both days. For more information or a to pay by check call 1-800-818-4747.
