Holy Redeemer is participating in this national event to provide information on Advanced Healthcare Directives.
Also known as a Living Will, an Advanced Healthcare Directive is a legal document in which a person specifies their medical preferences in the event they are no longer be able to speak for themselves due to sickness or an injury. An Advance Directive form has two major parts. One part allows you to express the specific medical treatment you do or do not want and the other part allows you to name your Power of Attorney for healthcare. That is, the person you want to speak for you if, you are not able to speak for yourself. The time to prepare an Advanced Directive is when you can reasonably make decisions about your health. This is an important document that anyone over the age of 18 should complete. It gives you a voice in your healthcare when you are unable to speak for yourself and gives your loved ones the peace of mind that they are honoring your wishes.
Experts will be on hand throughout the day to answer your questions about Advanced Directives.
