The demanding pace and emotional intensity of healthcare work can put physicians and other clinicians at risk for burnout and compassion fatigue. La Salle University and Holy Redeemer Health System recognize the need to focus on this issue to provide healthcare professionals with the tools they need to manage burnout. Together they are hosting a half- day symposium to assist health care professionals and students to:
- Identify the factors that contribute to burnout and compassion fatigue and recognize signs and symptoms.
- Articulate how burnout and compassion fatigue among healthcare providers impacts those who they serve.
- Learn to apply evidence-based strategies and techniques that might help prevent and/or lessen the impact of burnout and compassion fatigue.
